HIAB – LORRY MOUNTED CRANE
This Course is designed to provide candidates with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to operate a lorry mounted crane to load & unload Safely.
AIM
To provide Lorry Mounted Cranes Training Course participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to load/unload and move materials safely.
OBJECTIVES
On completion of this course, participants
- will be able to identify the key aspects of legislation, which applies to the safe preparation and operation of a Lorry Mounted Crane,
- can prepare a Lorry Mounted Crane for work safely and operate it without risk to themselves or other people,
- will be able to carry out daily and routine maintenance,
- can state the identified knowledge that underpins understanding of using a Lorry Mounted Crane,
- will know the procedure to follow when on a highway,
- will know the limitations of the equipment.

- Duties of operator
- Responsibilities of operator
- Pre- shift inspections
- Maintenance of machines
- Hazards associated when operating the machine
Practical
- Inspection of machine before use
- Risk assessment in working environment
- Wearing of correct PPE
- Loading / Unloading of loads when using chains or slings
- Recognition and use of approved hand signals

EQUIPMENT
Please ensure that all delegates have Safety Boots and Hi-vis jackets on the days of the training. A fully operational truck and crane in good condition is required and a safe area for practical skills.
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course a Trade Safety Ltd Training Certificate & Card will be issued.
